With our 22" television (from our stateroom), an external speaker (a gift from the Stows for Christmas), a computer (for Wi-Fi reception), the Amazon Fire Stick (appropriate APP already downloaded on it) and several cords, Mike departed Velsignet for the Stock Island Marina Village boaters' lounge. He was on a mission: To set up the boaters' lounge so a group of us could watch the February 2, 2020 Super Bowl game--the Kansas City Chiefs vs the San Francisco 49ers to be played right here in the state of Florida, Miami.
Even with couple of thunderstorms and rain and wind the last couple of days, it's difficult to be anything but content in the surroundings of Key West. We're in a place that's welcoming, laid back, bike friendly, and has lots to offer. It really IS a paradise!
The sale of Velsignet is moving forward with a buyer that ALMOST married a "scoundrel" by the last name of Finkenbinder! A purchase agreement has been signed. Surveys are being scheduled. On February 20th, we've flight plans to Indianapolis to get our car and enclosed trailer and bring them to Key West so to swap furnishings and move our things out. Our closing date is planned for February 27th.

Awaiting Red Pearl's arrival, Mike sits on the upper deck of Velsignet with a book recommended to him by Diana Low. It's called "Lucky You" and while he doesn't recommend the book to Brenda or anyone else, he gives Brenda an update of the story almost daily, laughing as he does so!

With Steve at the helm and Kathy on deck with the lines, Red Pearl arrived at Stock Island Marina around 1:00 p.m.

At our Super Bowl gathering, we were reunited with Deb and John (MV "Saltaire"). We met John and Deb back on the East Coast and have gotten together all along the way. John and Deb's daughter in Colorado literally lives only blocks from our daughter, Allison!

Mission accomplished: TV with ample sound to watch the Super Bowl!! As midwesterners, we rooted for KC and applauded their win. This was KC's second Super Bowl win, the first being exactly 50 years ago.

As Brenda writes this blog from the flybridge of Velsignet, this is her view looking forward towards the West. |

This view is from the flybridge looking East.

There were about 16 boaters together in the boaters' lounge to watch the Super Bowl. Most of us didn't know each other, but in typical boater fashion, it didn't take long to make introductions and begin conversations!
